New opportunities with revamping

Legislation in Germany now offers operators the opportunity to replace old, underperforming and degraded modules without losing the original EEG remuneration for the original output. Existing infrastructure and the vacant areas within an existing solar farm can, therefore, be used to further increase the overall yield of the plant.

Three versions: from light to heavy

There are three options for your revamping project: With revamping light, the nominal output of the farm is retained. With revamping medium, all tables are covered with new, higher-performing modules so that the nominal output increases. Some of the electricity is then marketed via a PPA or the electricity exchange. With revamping heavy, not only the modules but also the racks are replaced.

Replacement of defective modules and components

In order to use the full power of your solar power plant, defective modules or inverters should be checked and replaced if necessary.

Repowering

Operators can set the course for the future at an early stage with a new project on a safeguarded site. In this case, a completely new project is planned and implemented on the existing site.

Solar roof system Böblingen

New modules, more efficiency

In a comprehensive revamping process, a 1,327.86 kWp solar roof system from 2013 was completely renewed. The solar roof system is under the technical management of JUWI. During regular inspections, the O&M service units discovered cracked back sheets on solar modules. The cracked sheets could have posed a fire hazard. All modules and system components such as cables, substructure, and generator connection boxes were dismantled and reassembled. The maximum output remained unchanged. This also means that 15 percent of the roof area remains empty. The operator plans to install an additional PV system on the freed-up area.
